In honor of Mothers Day, the theme is "The Gifts of Divine Feminine."   Amina Linda McMakin is planning to join me, and will be presenting some Dances from the Mary Magdalene Cycle.  Plus, we'll celebrate Radha, Quan Yin, Holy Wisdom, and Others!

You are cordially invited to attend Columbia’s Dances of Universal Peace, this Saturday May 5, from 7-9 pm at the Frongillo home at 3600 Beverly Drive Columbia SC 29204. The temporary change of location is due to UU being unavailable to us this Saturday.

We are very happy that Didi Doggett will be leading us in seated Kirtan chanting of Baba Nam Kevalam, “All there is, is Love.” Later she will lead us in a dance to the same chant, and our usual leaders will teach and lead dances inspired by Hindu, Bhuddist, Christian, Middle Eastern Goddess, and Jewish traditions. Our seasonal themes include divine love, fertile ground, and new beginnings. After dancing, we will socialize over refreshments. Small donations accepted. Nancy Vakil Kempf, Nancy Noor Schlessel, and I will lead dances inspired by Christian, Buddhist, Hindu and Jewish and Islamist traditions, to celebrate themes of Seeking the One, of Purification, of Deliverance, and of Joy. After the dances we will have a time for socializing, with refreshments. A tiny love offering would be accepted gratefully, to help with dance expenses.

You are warmly invited to attend Columbia’s Dances of Universal Peace, on Saturday February 4, from 7-9 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbia, 2701 Heyward St. Columbia SC 29205.

As this is our first dance of 2012, Nancy Vakil Kempf, Nancy Noor Schlessel, and I will be leading dances related to the theme of New Beginnings. Also as Valentine’s Day is coming soon, we will also be mindful of Love. Of course love causes new beginnings, as Rumi says,

Everyone is invited to bring a love poem to read or share, between the dances.

We will start out with Bismilllah Ya Fattah and later Nancy Noor will lead Metta Karuna, a very sweet slow dance that is best done with eight people or more. Please let us know if you’re coming!

After the dances we will have a time for socializing, with refreshments. A tiny love offering would be accepted gratefully, to help with dance expenses.
